Compressor Dictionary - E

Environmental Protection

Please treat the environment responsibly when operating a compressor.

Firstly, be considerate towards people nearby, who may be irritated by the compressor's noise.

Secondly, dispose of » condensate in an environmentally friendly manner. If the compressor is operating normally, the oil content of the condensate is minimal. Nevertheless, condensate ought not be disposed at the dive site. Condensate is simple to collect. Pour the condensate into a flat container and allow the water to evaporate. Oil residues can be wiped off and discarded properly at a petrol station nearby.

Thirdly, check the filter cartridges before throwing them away. Usually they can be disposed with residential wastes (activated carbon and molecular sieve are both non-toxic chemicals). If the oil content seems unusually high, the cartridge might need treatment.

Fourthly, please dispose of lubricants responsibly. Your local garage or petrol station will collect these oils.
