Compressor Dictionary - S
Separator Technology
Following compression in the compressor stages, water vapour and oil residue are removed from the moist, compressed air by intermediate and final separators.
The final separator removes condensate contained within the compressed air. The oil and water emulsion is collected in the separator container and removed automatically by the condensate drain.
K180 and smaller units: incorporated after every compressor stage, starting with the second stage.
K22 and larger units: incorporated after every stage.
The removal of oil and water is generally achieved by a jet valve system. Water droplets and other liquids are completely removed. The simple, but ingenious design extends filter lifetime.
